My Approach to Counselling
At Compassionate Counselling my approach is integrative. This means that I am trained and experienced in using a range of psychotherapy theories and methods from psychodynamic and humanistic traditions. I also use cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness techniques where I consider these would be helpful. What this means for you is that just as you are unique, my approach will be uniquely tailored to suit your particular needs .Qualifications
I have a BA (Hons) in Psychology and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (Birmingham University), and I am a qualified AAMET level 2 EFT practitioner.I am committed to continuing professional development and regularly attend further training events and courses.
Experience
As well as several years in private practice, my experience also includes counselling within an NHS setting and many years working within an educational setting.please read testimonials from former clients
Professional Membership
I am UKCP registered and adhere to the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy)code of ethics.I am also a member of both BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)and SPTI (Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute) .
All my client work is supervised by a UKCP registered supervisor.
